In 2005 National Women Commission (Komnas Perempuan) on anti violence against women reported that there were 20.291 cases of domestic violence came from 29 provinces in Indonesia. It increased by 45% compared to the previous years. The government has already worked together with NGO to deal with this issue. However the statistic over the next years shows no significant progress. It happens mainly because the basic questions remain unanswered in solving the problem: what is the root cause? How to minimize it? In this book you can find our analysis in some perspectives and learning on the domestic violence issue in Indonesia. This book consists of articles and essay from 10 Cordaid’s partner organizations in Java working on women and violence.
