Facilitating Training on Project Cycle Management for Handicap International

CIRCLE Indonesia has facilitated a parallel training on Project Cycle Management for Handicap International staff. The training has been provided to all Projects teams members and Programme Thematic Advisers. It was conducted in Jogja on 13-15 June 2011.

The training were divided into two classes: beginners and advanced. Although some general aspects were similar, each class had its own specific focus. The beginner class focused on monitoring and evaluation while the advanced class focused on logical framework development.

In the beginner class, participants were introduced to the Project Cycle Management principles and their usefulness to their work so that they:

• Have a better understanding on the use of Logical Frameworks and its application in different phases of the project cycle.

• Have a better understanding and knowledge on the importance of the M&E,

• Have improved M&E skills.

• Provide a diagnostic of the tools (compilation of the soft copies) and processes they were using to collect information among the partners and the communities.

In the advanced class, participants were expected to:

• Have a common understanding of the different phases of the project cycle management

• Know how to use the problem tree tool

• Have the tools to lead participatory stakeholder analysis process

• Have the capacity to identify and formulate projects frame through a participatory approach

• Understand and know how to prepare high-standard logical frameworks

• Be able to define general objectives, specific objectives, expected results, indicators, etc.

• Provide a diagnostic of the tools (compilation of the soft copies) and processes they were implementing to collect information from their field teams.
